Welcome back to another post.
It has been awhile, but the updates shall be more rapid.
You can now select what title you wish to display in-game from your list of obtained titles.
Use the /titles command to open the selection menu.
In the coming weeks there will be updates and improvements to the UI.
Welcome back to those of you who still remain in the land of the banned.
For those of you who play regularly or participate in Discord you may notice many changes have been applied to the server recently:
The title system is the largest change that requires some explanation:
By default, player names in chat look like they do in vanilla Minecraft (white colors). On ban land, you are able to earn "titles" (ranks or names for specific objectives) through things like achivements, play time, join date, and many other (possibly) obscure conditions.
When you earn a title, it can be one of 5 colors, or 4 qualities/rarities:
(also comes in green)
The first one is Common (white). Easily obtained, and there will be a good number of these.
The second two, both being Uncommon (green or yellow), are usually equally difficult to obtain.
Rare and Epic (cyan and magenta) are both an order of magnitude more difficult or rare to obtain, each, in order (Epic being the highest quality).
There are technically titles without qualities assigned to them (that is, white titles). Currently the only one is "New Player", which all players have upon joining ban land.
Upon obtaining a title, it will be announced in chat to everyone on the server, and you will get a private message (only you can see) that shows what you accomplished to obtain that title, with every condition met denoted with a checked box. Afterwards, it will be applied to you automatically. Your name in chat will now be colored based on the quality/rarity of the title in question, and other players hovering over your name in the chat will see your title.
The simplest titles are "New Player" (mentioned above) and "Inhabitant" (a green Uncommon title). Inhabitant is granted to players who joined more than 14 days ago. There are at least 4 other titles currently obtainable that have varying qualities and conditions (some already obtained by actual players), and more will come later.
Currently only 1 title can be displayed at a time. It can be replaced by new ones if you earn them, however lower quality titles will not replace higher quality ones. In the future there will be a system introduced to choose which one you wish to display.
What is this place?
The land of the banned. A survival anarchy server to be specific.
How did I get here?
You tell me.
What do I do, or what can I do here?
Whatever you want. This is a survival mode server with no rules.
Where is the spawn?
If you mean a spawn building or structure, there isn't one. "Spawn" on ban land refers to coordinates (0, 0) on the X and Z axes. When you die here, you respawn randomly within a few hundred meters (or blocks) from (0, 0). The only way to set a "home" is to sleep in a bed the same as Vanilla Minecraft.
Where is the wilderness/PvP area/spawn protection?
None of these exist here. Because you get a random spawn point near (0, 0) every time you die, there is no protected area anywhere. Any player can modify any block anywhere on the map.
Is there a world border?
Yes and no. There is no world border enforced by the administration of ban land, however Minecraft only supports a world up to a maximum of 30 million (30,000,000) meters (or blocks) in any coordinate (X or Z, positive or negative). This means any Minecraft world can, at maximum, only be 60 million meters wide by 60 million meters high.
While it is true you can generate land farther than this, the game code for Minecraft enforces physics only up to that point. If you try to venture further, you will fall through the world. Building is impossible, and survival even more impossible. Just getting to the world border means traveling 30,000 kilometers from the spawn point.
That all being said, the world border is set to the absolute limit of 30,000,000 meters (or blocks) from (0, 0) to prevent players who reach it from falling through the void unexpectedly.
What plugins do you have?
Nothing you can use specifically.
What commands can I use?
See [to be posted].
Is hacking allowed?
Yes, however there is an anticheat on the server that prevents basic hacks from being used. There isn't fun if everyone can fly around invicible or dupe everything constantly/forever.
You will never be banned for using exploits, cheats, or glitches - so long as they are not malicious or criminal in nature.
At the end of the day, however, it is just a game. All players should keep this in mind while playing on ban land.
Will the map be reset?
Short answer - it won't be. Long answer - no, but it may be replaced by temporary maps if necessary for maintenance reasons including but not limited to: Mojang updating how world data works, corruptions or lag machines causing severe instability, and hardware upgrades.
The map was started in 1.14 with the intent to begin a new anarchy server, but with all of the new features Minecraft has to offer.
Can I lag the server intentionally?
Lag machines that truly affect the server will be removed at the whim of the administration. Large/complex builds will be archived to preserve them. The point stands that if there is no server (or the server is unplayable), there is no point in hosting it for anarchy to take place.
Beyond that we take no stance on what players attempt to build.
Is this like 2b2t?
Will you add a queue system?
If this is an anarchy server, is the seed public?
No. The seed will remain private indefinitely.
I see people putting their items/linking their items in chat. How do I do that?
You can link 1 item into a message at a time, and only a few messages can have items linked per minute.
To do so, simply say #hand, [item], or [i] while holding the item you want to link in your hand.
You can mouse over the item(s) in chat to see their details (such as enchantments, contents of Shulker Boxes, attributes, durability).
I see people making their messages green. How do I do that?
Start your message with the > (greater than) symbol to use greentexting.
Welcome everyone - this is the first public announcement.
I am your administrator, widd_.
